Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead multi-disciplinary delivery of large-scale rail programmes (stations, depots, ancillary assets) in live operational environments, ensuring quality, safety, innovation, and client satisfaction.
  • •Coordinate across architecture and rail-related disciplines (rail systems, civils, structures, MEP, fire, security, digital, specialist transport systems).
  • •Act as Design Lead/Project Director on complex rail projects and ensure compliance with rail station planning, passenger flow, security requirements, and operational/commercial constraints.
  • •Manage risk, project governance, technical reviews, and quality processes across programmes.
  • •Serve as the primary senior interface with rail authorities, operators, concessionaires, developers, contractors, and regulators, influencing early strategy and building relationships that drive repeat work and bids.

Key Requirements

  • •Qualified Architect (ARB / RIBA) or equivalent.
  • •Industry-recognised rail architecture leader with a portfolio of major rail developments.
  • •Experience delivering large-scale projects (£200m+) with multidisciplinary teams.
  • •Proven project leadership in high-pressure, complex environments with credibility as Design Lead or Project Director.
  • •Demonstrated success in bids, client leadership, and market-facing roles with proficiency in BIM-based workflows and computational/digital tools.
