Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform thermal analysis on refrigeration and airflow systems/components using simulation tools and empirical calculations.
  • •Create and evaluate thermal designs for components including heat exchangers, flow valves, compression systems, fans, and blowers.
  • •Develop designs for new heat exchangers for low GWP refrigerants, including analysis of boiling/condensation heat transfer for two-phase fluids.
  • •Optimize refrigeration system cycle balancing using empirical methods and simulation tools.
  • •Perform heat exchanger design and analysis using LMTD/NTU methods (shell-and-tube and extended surfaces) and support radiation/mass transfer calculations.

Key Requirements

  • •M.E./M.Tech or PhD in Thermal Engineering, or B.E. with thermal background experience from the HVAC industry.
  • •Elective or thesis experience on refrigeration systems.
  • •Certification from societies such as ASME or TEMA.
  • •Certifications by refrigeration forums and societies of HVAC & R are desirable.
  • •Experience publishing technical journal papers in thermal science.
