Job Summary

Assess and diagnose communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all ages, then develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans. Deliver therapy for conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, stuttering, voice disorders, and dysphagia, including bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educate patients and families, maintain accurate documentation, and support continuous professional development and compliance with Bahrain health regulations.

Key Responsibilities

•Assess and diagnose communication, speech, language, and swallowing disorders across all age groups.
•Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, goals, and medical condition.
•Deliver evidence-based therapy for communication difficulties such as aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, stuttering, and voice disorders.
•Manage swallowing disorders (dysphagia), including bedside and instrumental swallowing assessments.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients, families, and caregivers; document assessments and progress accurately and participate in case conferences and care planning.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology / Speech Therapy from a recognized university.
•Valid professional license/registration to practice in Bahrain (NHRA license) or eligibility to obtain one.
•Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Speech and Language Pathologist, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
•Experience managing adult neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s, dementia) is highly desirable.
