Job Summary

Perform concrete testing and quality control for ready-mixed concrete operations, including ASTM plastic and hardened concrete tests, specimen casting, and aggregate sieve analysis. Maintain test results and statistical data, ensure equipment is calibrated, and coordinate mix design adjustments with plant personnel. Partner with the operations team and customers to support concrete delivery and provide technical onsite corrective action, while following safety procedures and meeting onsite reporting expectations.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform concrete testing and monitor quality of ready-mixed concrete, including ASTM plastic tests (slump, air, unit weight, temperature, yield).
•Maintain concrete test results and statistical data for standard mixes, and draft reports to ensure compliance with specifications.
•Cast concrete test specimens, perform hardened concrete testing, and enter results into quality control software.
•Maintain equipment in operational condition and ensure correct calibration.
•Coordinate with the operations team and interact with customers regarding concrete delivery and technical onsite corrective action.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED, with one to two years related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination).
•Perform concrete tests and procedures per applicable ASTM standards and understand quality control objectives.
•Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, and able to use database and quality control software; communicate effectively.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and remedy quality control issues and perform routine laboratory testing.
•Preferred: ACI Field Testing Technician Level I and other listed testing certifications; must obtain certifications within 12 months in the position.
