Job Summary

Accounting Lead owning Garage’s GAAP accrual accounting, consolidating books in QuickBooks Online, managing month-end close, reconciliations, and scalable processes for a fast-growing marketplace. Partner with Finance to provide reliable inputs for planning and reporting, while building systems to support audits, diligence, and future growth.

Key Responsibilities

•Own Garage’s books in QuickBooks Online, including accurate financial statements, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
•Lead GAAP accrual accounting across AP, AR, payroll coordination, vendor payments, expenses, sales commissions, and related workflows.
•Reconcile marketplace transactions, payments, settlements, and funds movement across internal systems and external partners.
•Build and improve accounting processes, close calendars, review routines, documentation, and controls that can scale with the business.
•Partner with the Finance Lead to provide clean, reliable accounting inputs for planning, reporting, and business decision-making.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of accounting experience, ideally including ownership of accounting operations in a lean or high-growth environment.
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
•Strong experience with QuickBooks Online and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
•Strong knowledge of GAAP accrual accounting, including AP, AR, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement management.
•Excellent reconciliation skills across multiple bank accounts, payment flows, systems, and vendors.
