Job Summary

Own and build GetGround’s legal, regulatory, and compliance function as the business scales its regulated fintech, proptech, and wealthtech platform. Set legal/compliance strategy, design scalable frameworks, and lead engagement with the FCA and other regulators. Take accountability for FCA compliance (including Consumer Duty, COBS, MCOB) and financial crime controls (AML/KYC), drive enterprise risk management, and develop a high-performing legal and compliance team reporting into the COO.

Key Responsibilities

•Own all legal matters across corporate, commercial, IP, employment, data, product, and fundraising.
•Own GetGround’s compliance with FCA regulations across products and markets, including Consumer Duty, COBS, and MCOB.
•Act as (or appoint and oversee) the Compliance Officer and MLRO with accountability for AML, KYC, and financial crime controls.
•Design and own the enterprise risk management framework, including risk appetite, governance, policies, and reporting.
•Develop and manage the legal and compliance team, and build a pragmatic compliance culture that enables the business.

Key Requirements

•Qualified solicitor with 8+ years of PQE experience and experience heading up the legal function.
•Senior-level experience building or leading a legal and compliance function independently.
•Deep, hands-on FCA expertise, including Consumer Duty, COBS, and MCOB.
•Proven compliance and financial crime experience with AML, KYC, and related frameworks.
•Comfort advising executives and boards, with strong people leadership and ability to influence cross-functionally.
