Job Summary

Provide technical support to improve and optimize manufacturing operations at the Amcor Des Moines plant. Coordinate repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment installations to reduce downtime, improve safety, and support plant projects. Perform troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; create and complete work orders in AIMS/SAP; support facility and equipment maintenance; and collaborate with operators, supervisors, and engineering to keep production running.

Key Responsibilities

•Support Environmental Health & Safety by following all plant policies, procedures, and Amcor Safety Standards, including PPE, safe operating procedures, LOTO, and incident reporting.
•Perform preventive maintenance checks, inspections, and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
•Diagnose and correct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
•Create and complete work orders in AIMS/SAP, document corrective actions, and track labor and material costs.
•Install, maintain, and repair plant equipment and support facility maintenance to recover quickly and maintain production schedules.

Key Requirements

•Associate degree in Electro/Mechanical Technology, Journeyman Electrician, Millwright, or equivalent work experience.
•5+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment in a mechanical/electrical support role.
•Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
•Electrical knowledge of AC/DC systems, low voltage controls, and 480VAC equipment with compliance to NFPA 70E arc flash safe work practices.
•Experience with PLC & VFD troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley preferred).
