Job Summary

Lead embedded software architecture and driver development for Acacia’s high-speed optical transceivers, guiding cross-functional teams (Chip, DSP, Optics) to design complex control-system platforms. Architect system software, develop algorithms, and bring up hardware in collaboration with Manufacturing and Quality. Also engage with customers on technical discussions and mentor junior engineers while ensuring efficient, compact code for embedded CPUs.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the architecture and design of complex optical sub-systems that go into future Acacia SOCs; collaborate with Chip, DSP and Optics architects to drive innovation in Acacia’s products.
•Interface with the wider cross-functional engineering team to architect the system software, develop algorithms, contribute to code development, and participate in system bring up and debug.
•Work with Hardware, ASIC, Optical, and DSP teams in the engineering organization and the PLM team; collaborate with Product engineering and Quality teams to ensure smooth transition of products to Manufacturing.
•Handle customer interface for technical discussions related to Acacia SW architecture and design with customers.
•Demonstrate ability to work from high level system design to low level driver development and mentor junior colleagues.

Salary: USD 163,600 - 234,600 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree and 8+ years (Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent) in telecommunications.
•8+ years of experience with C/C++ and C.
•8+ years of experience with embedded firmware development (both control and data path).
•Demonstrated experience with programming on bare metal and RTOS running on embedded CPUs and microcontrollers.
•Demonstrated experience with control systems.
