Key Responsibilities

•Provide expert gas compliance guidance across the estate, ensuring statutory inspections, servicing, and preventative maintenance programmes are delivered effectively.
•Monitor performance against compliance requirements, complete audits and assurance reviews, and ensure corrective actions are completed to maintain technical governance standards.
•Advise operational teams, contractors, and project managers on gas infrastructure, including review of technical procedures, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
•Identify and manage gas-related risks, maintain accurate compliance records, and support emergency responses as required.
•Verify contractor competence, monitor delivery of gas-related works, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend practical improvements.

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience managing gas compliance across large property, infrastructure, or facilities management portfolios.
•Thorough understanding of Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations and Gas Safety Management Regulations, plus relevant British Standards and health and safety legislation.
•Confidence delivering compliance assurance, performing technical audits, and making risk-based decisions in a highly regulated environment.
•Current ACS Gas qualifications appropriate to the role, alongside a recognised Mechanical or Building Services qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC, HND or equivalent.
•Knowledge/experience in Defence, MOD, Facilities Management, or other highly regulated environments; ACS Gas and relevant competencies or registrations such as IGEM/GL/6, SCO or EUSR Gas (beneficial).
