Job Summary

Lead Mobile Workflows, the infrastructure layer that enables Canva’s Portable Platform migration to a native-grade mobile experience across iOS, Android, and web. Own simulator/emulator tooling, device orchestration, and mobile CLI tools. Build and evolve a mobile test automation framework, set CI/CD quality gating, and consolidate fragmented tooling and quality signals across Native Infra, Cross Platform, and DevX. Mentor the team and codify mobile testing standards used across Canva.

Key Responsibilities

•Own mobile development tooling by defining architecture and roadmap for simulator/emulator setup, device orchestration, and iOS/Android CLI tools.
•Lead the mobile test automation framework for synthetic and integration testing across platforms, scoping cross-team problems and delivering multi-team projects.
•Set CI/CD quality gating strategy by proactively surfacing quality problems before they reach production.
•Consolidate fragmented mobile workflows by driving alignment across Native Infra, Cross Platform, and DevX to create a cohesive system.
•Mentor and grow the team by rallying mobile teams around shared ways of working and helping attract and assess mobile talent.

Key Requirements

•Deep expertise in at least one mobile platform: iOS (Swift) or Android (Kotlin), with working knowledge of the other and cross-platform experience.
•Hands-on production experience with React Native or a comparable cross-platform mobile framework at meaningful scale.
•Experience building or shaping a mobile test automation framework (synthetic, integration, or E2E) with evidence other teams adopted it.
•Background defining quality gating strategies or improving CI/CD pipelines, including mobile build systems, device farm integration, and fast feedback loops at scale.
•Track record scoping and delivering complex cross-team technical projects spanning multiple stakeholders and landing cleanly.
