Key Responsibilities

  • •Proactively manage an assigned caseload of complex property damage claims within coverage guidelines and authority limits.
  • •Investigate claim damages using research from the insured, third parties, and external sources; identify and resolve discrepancies and subrogation opportunities.
  • •Analyze complex policy terms and contingencies to determine coverage; make Special Investigation Unit (SIU) referrals when appropriate.
  • •Negotiate and settle complex claims, developing settlement recommendations and collaborating with management for amounts outside authority limits.
  • •Maintain accurate, thorough, and current claim file documentation; support catastrophe response and may conduct in-person inspections and travel as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
  • •2 years of relevant property claims adjusting experience handling moderate complexity losses, including writing estimates for dwelling and structural damages.
  • •Advanced knowledge of estimating losses using Xactimate or similar tools and platforms.
  • •Proficient knowledge of residential construction and property claims contracts, including interpretation of case law and state laws/regulations.
  • •Ability to travel 50–75% of the year and acquire/maintain an insurance adjuster license within 90 days (3 attempts).
