  • •Lead, grow, and develop a team of software engineers building the in-game text chat platform.
  • •Own the technical vision and multi-quarter roadmap for real-time text messaging across scale, latency, reliability, and cost.
  • •Drive the architecture and evolution of messaging systems delivering billions of messages per day at low latency.
  • •Partner with product and design to shape chat as a product experience and translate ambiguous goals into shipped features.
  • •Collaborate with Trust & Safety, Policy, and ML to ensure messaging is safe and civil by design, and establish engineering practices for quality and operational excellence.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years managing and growing engineering teams.
  • •Experience building and shipping consumer-facing products at scale, ideally messaging/communications/social or other real-time systems.
  • •Strong product intuition and ability to make tradeoffs between user experience, technical complexity, and delivery speed.
  • •Deep experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems with reliability, latency, and production throughput.
  • •Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership, with a history of driving alignment across product, design, and engineering.
