Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical support, evolution, and long-term sustainability for the SASS-C surveillance system performance analysis tool.
  • •Maintain, operate, and evolve the SASS-C platform at EUROCONTROL, ensuring architectural coherence, algorithmic integrity, mathematical correctness, and compatibility with future developments.
  • •Apply advanced mathematical algorithms for surveillance data reconstruction and estimation, including filtering and state-estimation (Kalman-based methods).
  • •Perform end-to-end software lifecycle activities: installation/configuration, validation and acceptance of new software versions, and advanced scripting/configuration.
  • •Contribute to continuous improvements in robustness, performance, and maintainability, using AI-assisted techniques when appropriate for development, testing, validation, and analysis.

Key Requirements

  • •Completed University or equivalent Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • •PhD (Doctorate) in Computer Science or Engineering (desirable) with research focus on Surveillance Data Processing, Multi-sensor Data Fusion, or Trajectory Analysis.
  • •Proficient in English (Level C1 or equivalent) for written and spoken technical/scientific communication.
  • •At least 3 years of experience in the ATM Surveillance domain, plus proven experience reverse engineering legacy C++.
  • •Experience in Software Build Management and CI/CD automation using Jenkins for C++ compilation and testing workflows.
