Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform field inspection and oversight of transportation construction projects including bridges, roads, traffic signals, signing, ITS, and underground facilities.
  • •Monitor and record contractor work/progress and track material quality and usage using FieldBook and ProjectWise.
  • •Verify traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction.
  • •Maintain communication among AECOM supervisors, MDOT/local agencies, contractors, and the general public.
  • •Perform NPDES inspections and support QA activities including punch lists, testing, commissioning, and inspection records/documentation for turnovers.

Key Requirements

  • •High school plus 2 years of related experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Preferred: 4+ years of MDOT, other state DOT, or local agency construction inspection experience (or equivalent combination).
  • •Basic understanding of construction principles and practices.
  • •Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications and document events, issues, and variances.
  • •Valid driver’s license with good driving record; MDOT certifications required or must be earned within 6 months of employment.
