Job Summary

Support the safe, reliable operation of U.S. Gas Transmission electrical power systems by working with Operations and Project teams on asset reliability, system performance, and electrical engineering standards. Help develop equipment specifications and operating/maintenance procedures, troubleshoot medium/high-voltage electrical issues, support capital projects and design reviews, and contribute to power protection and arc flash studies while ensuring compliance with electrical codes and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Assist in developing and maintaining electrical equipment specifications, design and construction standards, and stewardship for operating/maintenance procedures and commissioning checks.
•Provide technical research, interpretations, and guidance on standards and codes for operations and project partners.
•Troubleshoot and analyze electrical issues for medium and high voltage assets across operating, testing, and commissioning; support electrical system reliability, quality, and safety.
•Support capital projects with technical design reviews, engineering expertise, technical review and sign-off of electrical test results, and power protective relay commissioning support.
•Assist with power protection support and coordination/arc flash studies, asset health/reliability activities, failure analyses, incident investigations, and mentoring/training for other engineers and support groups.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of progressive experience in an electrical engineering role and a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
•Ability to lead efforts to solve complex technical problems and coordinate between teams while managing multiple assignments and expectations.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including effective report composition and interaction with peers, internal partners, vendors, and service providers.
•Knowledge of regulatory and industry codes/standards, including NFPA 70, 70E, NESC, and IEEE.
•Working knowledge of power systems and power system coordination/modeling (SKM experience preferred), plus ability to perform power systems studies and provide power system support.
