Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide non-medical, short-term, solution-focused counseling to adults, children, and youth of service members, including assessment, brief counseling, action planning, and follow-up.
  • •Support CYB needs by assisting CDC/DoDEA/community schools, youth programs, and summer camps, including parent training and guidance.
  • •Deliver training and health/wellness presentations and participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities.
  • •Enter counselor activity data daily through a smartphone or web application while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity.
  • •Collaborate with installation and military Points of Contact (POC) to ensure the program is delivered within scope and meets installation needs, including responding to critical incidents and special requests as directed.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s Degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health related field or social work.
  • •Current licensure required for the position, including independently licensed behavioral health clinician credentials (e.g., LPC).
  • •Ability to prove US citizenship and must be fluent in English.
  • •Advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused counseling methods.
  • •Ability to accept short-notice assignments that may include weekends and varying durations (from a weekend up to two weeks), including travel and work across indoor/outdoor base locations.
