Key Responsibilities

  • •Conduct investigations, interviews, and inspections, driving to damage sites within the assigned territory or as required.
  • •Prepare estimates, make recommendations, handle coverage questions, and address litigation as needed.
  • •Set and maintain reserves; review reports and related materials; determine coverage and claim value; issue or decline payment; negotiate when necessary.
  • •Document claim files and submit reports for closure.
  • •Service assigned territory, bring claims to conclusion, and assist the claims supervisor (including representation at legal proceedings) as required.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent required (Property Adjuster Trainee).
  • •Property Adjuster I requires two years of claims handling experience (or equivalent) OR successful completion of ERIE sponsored formal education; Property Adjuster II requires five years (or equivalent) OR a Bachelor’s plus two years.
  • •Must live in the assigned territory unless a change is approved by the company.
  • •Position requires serving on catastrophe duty, including travel on short notice to other locations for periods exceeding two consecutive weeks.
  • •Valid driver’s license and good driving record required, and willingness to obtain/maintain required licenses and complete required training.
