Key Responsibilities

  • •Review the existing National Medicines Policy using end-term assessment findings and assess gaps, opportunities, threats, and strengths.
  • •Analyze pharmaceutical governance and health-sector linkages (including Free Primary Healthcare) and propose updated policy objectives, priorities, and implementation mechanisms.
  • •Draft the revised National Medicines Policy, including a costed implementation plan and monitoring and evaluation framework.
  • •Coordinate structured stakeholder engagement (inception, technical consultations, regional and national engagements, and validation meetings) to inform and finalize the policy.
  • •Develop strategic recommendations and deliver end-of-assignment reporting summarizing outcomes, lessons learnt, and forward-looking recommendations.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GHS 150,000

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced university degree in Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Policy, Pharmaceutical Systems, or a related field.
  • •Minimum 7 years of senior-level experience in health systems governance and pharmaceutical sector strengthening.
  • •Proven experience working in Ghana’s pharmaceutical sector for at least 10 years.
  • •Strong governance and stewardship expertise, including accountability and policy implementation.
  • •Excellent facilitation, negotiation, diplomacy, and relationship-management skills with strong policy/technical writing ability.
