Key Responsibilities

  • •Run the physical lab across both sites, including receiving/staging, rack-and-stack, cabling, power distribution and load planning, cooling, and floor layout.
  • •Bring up new server and accelerator platforms from crate to a machine remote engineers can use, including firmware/BIOS/UEFI, out-of-band management, OS install, and network provisioning.
  • •Own lab hardware procurement and inventory management, including ordering ahead of need and keeping receiving/inventory organized.
  • •Own end-to-end RMA processes for lab hardware (triage, swap, ship, track, close) and drive vendor escalations.
  • •Build one-off debug and programming harnesses (JTAG/SWD/UART), provide remote power/console/KVM access, and document playbooks and tooling for remote lab usage.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on experience running a hardware, systems, or datacenter lab (rack-and-stack, copper/fiber cabling, and power distribution like PDUs/circuits/phase balancing).
  • •Working knowledge of server management planes (BMC/IPMI/Redfish), BIOS/UEFI configuration, serial console, PXE/network boot, and firmware updates.
  • •Enough Linux and networking knowledge (VLANs, DHCP, DNS, basic switch config) to bring a machine to a usable state for remote engineers.
  • •Managed vendors, contractors, quotes, and freight for physical equipment, with ability to run procurement and logistics for lab hardware.
  • •Comfortable and safe using power tools and bench power supplies, and able to interpret wiring/rack elevation diagrams.
