Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare traction power and electrical substation deliverables including AC/DC single-line diagrams, metering and relaying schematics, control schematics, and related wiring/power distribution drawings.
  • •Develop engineering design criteria and reports and prepare engineering technical specifications.
  • •Perform onsite inspections, physical measurements, and field reports in live high-voltage substations and along active railroads.
  • •Support factory tests and site commissioning tests and produce corresponding field reports.
  • •Perform protective relay settings and coordination studies and provide estimates for engineering budget and schedule.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) plus 4 years of traction power design experience with 750 V DC third rail and overhead distribution systems.
  • •Experience with railway electrification (DC and AC), including design, construction, test & commissioning, and maintenance of electrical substations.
  • •Develop engineering technical specifications and design criteria/reports for electrical substation equipment.
  • •Perform electrical calculations and design grounding & bonding networks for electric railways in DC and AC.
  • •Preferred: Professional Engineering License (New York).
