Key Responsibilities

  • •Review job orders to determine proper equipment and materials, including mandrel size, belt selection, and paper size/width.
  • •Set up and operate the winding machine, adjusting paper angles, ribbon spacing, glue pots/adhesive, winding belt tension, and splicing paper as needed.
  • •Set up and operate the tube saw by selecting saw blades and adjusting for correct diameter, tube length, and even cut-off.
  • •During production, continuously check critical quality areas such as safety, dimensions, tube length, gap, adhesion, and ply spacing; document measurements.
  • •Coordinate with the production team for line setup, back up the Line Lead, perform required equipment maintenance (lubrication/oiling), and maintain a clean working area safely.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED, with 1 to 3 months related experience and/or training.
  • •Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and complete production reports.
  • •Basic math skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • •Ability to apply common-sense understanding to follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form and handle problems in standardized situations.
