Job Summary

Ensure the smooth, safe, and humane handling of hogs as they arrive at the facility. Receive, unload, and sort livestock by quality and weight, move animals to holding pens, identify (tattoos), scale, and count accurately, including tracking any non-ambulatory animals. Monitor yard and truck conditions, perform animal welfare audits, and complete PQA/TQA and other handling and safety training. Collaborate with the team to keep operations running in real time.

Key Responsibilities

•Receive, unload, and sort hogs by quality and weight; move hogs from trucks to holding pens safely and efficiently.
•Identify (tattoos), scale, and accurately count livestock, including tracking dead or non-ambulatory animals; process outgoing livestock as needed.
•Monitor yard and truck conditions to ensure proper handling and compliance with corporate and governmental standards.
•Perform animal welfare audits to maintain ethical treatment of livestock.
•Communicate with team members and management to address issues and keep operations running smoothly in real time.
