Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment in a fast-paced food processing plant. You’ll review work orders and respond to emergencies, read technical documentation, and perform hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance across mechanical systems and production equipment. Install and maintain mechanical and electrical systems, fabricate replacement parts when needed, and follow safety protocols including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and GMPs to minimize downtime and keep production running.

Key Responsibilities

•Review work orders to plan tools, equipment, time, manpower, parts, and supplies; use SAP to create work orders and respond to emergency calls.
•Perform hands-on maintenance and equipment repair by monitoring machinery, disassembling and troubleshooting mechanical equipment, replacing and reassembling parts, and testing functionality.
•Install and maintain essential systems including mechanical equipment and piping, electrical controls, and utilities such as electrical, water, gas, and drain lines.
•Use welding, cutting, and sheet metal work to fabricate replacement parts and maintain pumps, packaging, slicing equipment, and other mechanical systems.
•Follow safety protocols including LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain a safe, compliant environment.

Salary: USD 24.95 - 34.45 hourly

Key Requirements

•High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of related experience/training in industrial mechanical maintenance or food manufacturing, or 4 years of direct experience in the same environment.
•Vocational diploma, technical diploma, or associate degree in technical maintenance or a vocational school (preferred).
•Ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact with personnel and outside contractors.
•Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, scissor lift, or other powered industrial trucks (PIT).
•Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, including reading and executing work orders and writing daily reports.
