Job Summary

Provide Maternal and Fetal Medicine care for in-patients and out-patients, including surgical care for gynecologic and obstetric conditions in OR and OPD settings. Cover the delivery room with admission, history review, and management of spontaneous and operative deliveries in coordination with midwives, and respond to emergency consultations. Perform and interpret ultrasound exams, interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, and provide outpatient clinic care and consultations.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform professional duties as a Maternal and Fetal Medicine specialist for in-patient and out-patient cases.
•Provide surgical care in the operating room and OPD for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
•Cover the delivery room: admit patients, review history, plan a course of action, perform spontaneous and operative deliveries, and work with midwives.
•Cover emergency service by responding promptly to consultation calls.
•Conduct and interpret ultrasound examinations, interpret fetal heart rate monitoring, and take appropriate action; provide outpatient clinic care and consultations.

Key Requirements

•Graduation from an approved medical school plus internship.
•Three years residency in Maternal and Fetal Medicine, culminating in a Post Graduate Masters degree and/or DOH-approved equivalent fellowships.
•Five or more years of exclusive practice of obstetrics and gynecology since certification.
•DOH License to practice as Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
•Excellent command of written and oral English; basic knowledge of medical Arabic is desirable.
