Key Responsibilities

  • •Own harness CAD design: route, bundle, and constrain harnesses in the 3D model with requirements for bend radii, strain relief, clearances, and connector accessibility
  • •Own harness schematics and documentation: wiring diagrams, wire lists and from-to charts, connector pinout tables, splice topology, and shield/grounding schemes
  • •Own component selection: specify wire and connectors based on current, derating, voltage drop, insulation, temperature/radiation/flex requirements, and define qualifying crimp tooling and regimes
  • •Design to safety-class requirements: apply separation/independence between redundant divisions and maintain traceability and design records for I&C classification and licensing
  • •Own harness design review and release process: define review gates, manage ECO and PLM change flow under QA, and improve release speed with harness design software integrations

Salary: USD 135,000 - 185,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) or equivalent practical experience
  • •2+ years designing production wire harnesses and cable assemblies from schematic through a released, buildable package
  • •Experience using harness/electrical CAD tools such as Zuken E3.series, Siemens Capital, Mentor VeSys, SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA Electrical, or Rapid Harness
  • •Hands-on harness component selection knowledge including wire construction/derating and connector families, contacts, backshells, sealing, and crimp tooling
  • •Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 harness workmanship, inspection, and electrical test practice (continuity, insulation resistance, hipot)
