Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist in the design of rail electrical systems including lighting, small power, earthing and bonding, points heating, traction power, and LV/HV distribution networks.
  • •Support site surveys, condition assessments, and inspections to inform design decisions and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • •Use industry-leading software and BIM tools to produce drawings, models, and design documentation.
  • •Collaborate with signalling, telecoms, and civils colleagues to ensure electrical designs are integrated into overall railway systems.
  • •Contribute to planning and phasing of electrical construction and commissioning while promoting safety, sustainability, efficiency, and maintainability.

Key Requirements

  • •BEng Electrical Engineering with a 2:1 classification (or equivalent) or above.
  • •Ability to demonstrate a good technical understanding of Rail/Electrical Engineering.
  • •Willing and able to work towards chartership with the IET.
  • •Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) essential.
  • •Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external clients, verbally and in writing.
