Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage legal requirements and set the strategic direction for waste services to stay ahead of legislative changes.
  • •Partner with key stakeholders to deliver waste trials and innovative, market-leading solutions.
  • •Oversee performance, risk, and innovation within multi-million-pound waste supply chain contracts.
  • •Provide technical advice and champion the sustainability agenda to foster ownership and awareness among Partners.
  • •Lead innovation in waste streams to support the circular economy across the business.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 59,100 - 90,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Strong understanding of commercial waste management legal requirements, including DEFRA and devolved government requirements.
  • •Experience managing service contracts, including performance and risk.
  • •Commercial acumen to drive cost efficiencies and identify innovative waste-stream opportunities.
  • •Proven stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, with effective communication at all levels.
  • •Knowledge of the retail industry and its waste challenges; membership of IWFM or CIWM would be advantageous.
