Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and in a timely manner while obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment when warranted, including unloading goods/materials and returning equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain and deliver required paperwork (invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other documentation) to the appropriate staff when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service checks on trucks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air), report maintenance malfunctions, and arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) appropriate for the weight of the vehicle to be operated.
  • •Must pass a background check and drug testing as required by federal/state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff.
  • •Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds and handle prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab; must be able to travel frequently.
