Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical assistance, operational coordination, and field-level support to provincial health authorities and facilities to strengthen primary health care.
  • •Support immunization and vaccine-preventable disease surveillance by helping analyze coverage and surveillance indicators, guide microplanning, and improve specimen handling, supervision, AEFI processes, and cold-chain/vaccine management.
  • •Facilitate convening of relevant provincial, district, facility, community, and partner stakeholders to identify and resolve gaps affecting outreach, reporting, referrals, vaccine availability, and surveillance performance.
  • •Support integrated primary health care by analyzing PHC gaps, helping translate gaps into district/facility/outreach plans, and organizing joint planning/problem-solving with clear actions and responsible officers.
  • •Track agreed service improvements with provincial officers using an action tracker, document local practices, and escalate unresolved constraints through established channels.

Salary: PGK 9,000 - 10,000

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a first-level university degree (bachelor’s) or diploma in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Health Management, Social Sciences, or a related field, from a recognized institution.
  • •Either complete a bachelor’s within the last 3 years with strong academic standing and leadership in community/volunteer health activities, or have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in public health, community health, or programme implementation.
  • •Demonstrate the ability to work with provincial health authorities, health facilities, or partners, and familiarity with basic data or reporting tools.
  • •Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to monitor progress and follow up on multiple actions.
  • •Have expert spoken and written English and strong written/verbal communication plus excellent interpersonal working relations.
