Job Summary

Deliver detailed drilling and completion laboratory testing and analytical work to support mud program design, project troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Execute pilot testing, QA/QC, equipment repair/calibration, and corrosion coupon reporting, and run flow, PPA/PPT, and laser particle size distribution tests to optimize fluids. Maintain lab organization and consumables, support incident investigations, and provide mentorship for DCF lab operations while collaborating with remote technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform pilot testing on drilling and completion fluids using proposed recipes and field mud/brine samples.
•Provide QA/QC on products and maintain/repair and calibrate site testing equipment.
•Analyze corrosion coupons and produce corrosion technical reports.
•Run core flow tests and other lab analyses (PPA/PPT, laser PSD) to evaluate and select optimal mud cake breaker and design RDF/low invasion coring fluids.
•Maintain lab safety and equipment/consumables readiness, support incident investigations/RCA, and mentor/supervise DCF Lab operations while collaborating with remote teams.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in a Science discipline (e.g., Physics, Environmental, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geo-Physics/Geo-Chemistry, Chemical Engineering).
•Minimum 7 years’ experience working in a Drilling Fluids Lab as a Lab Technician or Technical Support Engineer (10 years preferred).
•Fluent Arabic speaker (preferable).
•Strong experience in drilling fluids design, applications, and performance.
•Technically competent to run drilling fluids API-related specifications and able to work independently with strong planning, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
