  • •Set strategy and deliver business value through a roadmap, prioritisation governance, and measurable performance measures across delivery outcomes and service health.
  • •Lead the design, delivery, and implementation of technology change impacting platforms, from enhancements to re-engineering, ensuring high-quality production delivery.
  • •Scale reusable digital technology foundations across digital, data, and innovation; define target-state architecture aligned to HSBC principles.
  • •Champion AI, automation, and modern engineering practices while strengthening resilience, risk management, monitoring, and operational automation to reduce incidents.
  • •Build and lead a high-performing inclusive global team; manage resource requirements, budgets, business cases, benefits realisation, and stakeholder feedback loops.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience leading engineering teams with accountability for delivery outcomes.
  • •Strong hands-on software engineering background shipping production systems in complex, business-critical programmes at pace.
  • •Experience influencing technical decisions (system design, integration patterns, data flows) and improving engineering practices (quality, CI/CD, testing, reliability, observability).
  • •Direct experience mobilising and managing change/technology in complex multinational environments, including stakeholder and business sponsor management.
  • •Demonstrable experience leading delivery of AI/ML and/or GenAI-enabled capabilities in a regulated enterprise environment from use-case selection through production rollout and benefits realisation.
