Job Summary

Lead and technically own engineering projects for the Optical Engineering Director role within the Imagine and Process Control Group (IPC). Manage an Optical Engineers team across multiple programs, drive complex system design and qualification, and define experiments, troubleshooting approaches, and system specifications. Serve as a technical expert in optical/physics issues, partner with business leaders, oversee R&D feasibility studies and vendor selection, and publish and present new technologies while mentoring less-experienced scientists.

•Drive R&D: initiate physics/science projects, evaluate new technologies, plan feasibility studies, manage strategic vendors, and deliver technical papers/presentations.

•Experience leading teams across the full design cycle from specification development through design, supplier support, part verification, and integration.

•Demonstrate technical expertise developing major optical subsystems, including design specifications and trade-offs with system engineers.
•Evaluate optical systems and develop alignment strategies, error budgets, and subsystem requirements for alpha testing of current and future products.
