Key Responsibilities

  • •Define clear, actionable problem statements and deliver results with a comprehensive understanding of ontologies and optimized data models.
  • •Own and prioritize the near-term ontology and data modeling roadmap, identifying leverage points and defining success metrics and measurable outcomes.
  • •Partner with technology and machine learning teams to develop and integrate semantic technology into Capital One products and services, aligning to the end-state architecture.
  • •Create reusable, extensible, and resilient ontology and data modeling capabilities; contribute to data integration and mapping to harmonize upper and domain ontologies.
  • •Lead team culture activities including recruiting, mentoring, and developing junior ontology and data modeling associates, while managing and governing ontologies and data models.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 149,800 - 205,100 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science, engineering, library science, ontology, semantics, or computational linguistics.
  • •At least 4 years of experience in a metadata field (ontology, taxonomy, semantics, or computational linguistics).
  • •At least 4 years of experience or training using W3C standards for linked and canonical data/ontologies (JSON, XML, RDF, RDFS, OWL, SKOS).
  • •At least 4 years of experience or training with ontology and linked data tools (Protégé, TopQuadrant, PoolParty, Stardog, AnzoGraph, Neptune, or Data.World).
  • •At least 4 years of experience or training with SQL or SPARQL.
