Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform standardized mechanical tests (tensile, compression, fatigue, fracture toughness) at cryogenic, room, and elevated temperatures to support vehicle and spacecraft hardware development
  • •Use mechanical testing software to collect data and generate data reports for engineering teams
  • •Execute non-standard testing with engineering support and support test article fabrication (machining, welding/bonding, polishing, fixturing)
  • •Characterize materials and welds via sample preparation and testing procedures using microscopes and tools such as SEM/EDS/FTIR
  • •Operate and maintain lab equipment, ensure calibration for measurement/test tools, maintain a clean work station, and run cure ovens and temperature loggers
