Job Summary

Lead project controls delivery for Rio Tinto Closure Legacy across the Americas Region, ensuring high-quality cost, schedule, progress, and portfolio reporting. Manage a team of project controllers and schedulers, consolidate monthly reporting, forecast budgets and accruals, and oversee project controls governance. Partner with site, study, contractor, and functional stakeholders to analyze trends, manage portfolio reviews, and provide decision-ready insights using standardized processes and tools, including SAP and Power BI.

•Lead monthly project controls consolidation for the AMR closure portfolio, including budget tracking, forecasting, accruals, progress and schedule performance, portfolio reporting, and Annual Plan Review support.
•Manage the workload, scope, deliverables, and performance of AMR project controllers and schedulers, providing direction, coaching, and technical guidance.
•Provide leadership and technical oversight to ensure project controls outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with business requirements.
•Analyze cost, schedule, progress, and performance trends to support strategic and operational decision-making across sites, regions, and functions.
•Oversee project controls support for SAP project creation and related activities (budget uploads, WBS structure, service entry sheets, purchase requisitions/orders, vendor management, and invoice verification).

Key Requirements

•Significant experience in project controls, ideally within complex projects/portfolios in mining, construction, closure, or heavy industry environments.
•Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing performance, and providing technical direction in a project controls environment.
•Strong understanding of project management and project controls disciplines, including cost control, scheduling, progress measurement, forecasting, earned value management, and accruals.
•Experience managing project controls deliverables across a portfolio and supporting senior stakeholders with decision-ready insights.
•Proficiency in SAP, Excel, and Power BI; if based in Quebec, fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required.
