Job Summary

Join the International SEO team to help scale Canva’s next phase of growth in Japan. You’ll create and optimize SEO-friendly, culturally relevant content for landing pages and blog articles, publish through a CMS, and continuously track and improve performance. Working closely with the Japan SEO Lead and local partners, you’ll support keyword research and competitor analysis while staying ahead of evolving discovery trends like AI-powered search and GEO/AEO.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain an editorial calendar and publishing plan, championing content requirements for landing pages and blog articles.
•Create and edit SEO-optimized content about design topics that aligns with strategy and resonates with local audiences.
•Upload and publish content following SEO best practices and Canva’s local tone of voice; maintain brand quality and consistency.
•Track and optimize landing pages to keep content fresh, improve credibility, and enhance user engagement.
•Collaborate with the Japan SEO team on goals and SEO best practices; support keyword research, competitor analysis, and outreach-driven content production.

Key Requirements

•Native or near-native Japanese proficiency with business-level English.
•Minimum 3 years of SEO content writing and/or content marketing experience with a portfolio showing successful outcomes.
•Strong copywriting and copy editing skills, including providing constructive feedback to other writers.
•Experience with editorial planning and publishing content in a CMS (content management system).
•Solid SEO fundamentals (keyword optimization, content structure, user intent) plus familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs or Semrush (bonus).
