Key Responsibilities

  • •Find and ship savings across AWS and GCP by analyzing billing, usage, and cost trends (rightsizing, storage lifecycle, data transfer, spot/auto-scaling).
  • •Build and maintain cost attribution using tagging policies, cost allocation, and chargeback/showback so engineering teams can own spend.
  • •Automate cost governance with cost reporting, anomaly detection, and alerting, enforcing policy via scripts and infrastructure-as-code.
  • •Partner with engineering on architecture decisions by bringing cost considerations in early to avoid retrofit tradeoffs.
  • •Support finance forecasting and reporting through budget tracking and financial KPIs, building dashboards for engineering and finance.

Key Requirements

  • •Strong AWS expertise with working knowledge of GCP, including pricing models, billing structures, and cost optimization mechanics.
  • •Automation and scripting skills, including Python plus Terraform/Pulumi and/or Lambda (or Bash).
  • •Comfort using cloud cost/billing tooling such as AWS Cost Explorer, AWS Cost & Usage Reports, and GCP Billing Reports, plus BI/dashboarding (Hex).
  • •Experience with or willingness to use Linear and Notion to track and document FinOps work.
  • •Prior experience in a FinOps, cloud cost management, or cloud governance role.
