Job Summary

Lead compiler innovation to unlock performance for data center GPU platforms used for AI applications. Drive technical direction and deliver high-impact compiler optimizations and compiler infrastructure that others can build on. Design and tune LLVM backend passes, develop new code generation infrastructure, and collaborate with hardware, architecture, runtime, and kernel/driver teams on hardware/software co-design. Contribute to the open-source LLVM community while ensuring performance, correctness, and stability.

Key Responsibilities

•Improve compiler infrastructure for current AI products and develop new compiler technologies.
•Design, implement, and tune LLVM backend passes for low-level optimizations such as instruction selection, register allocation, instruction scheduling, software pipelining, and memory access transformations.
•Drive design and implementation of new code generation infrastructure, potentially including custom LLVM components for evolving hardware.
•Partner with Hardware Design, Architecture, Software Runtime, and Kernel/Driver teams on hardware/software co-design to maximize overall stack performance.
•Contribute to the open-source LLVM community by submitting patches, participating in design discussions, and integrating key features upstream as applicable.

Key Requirements

•Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with multiple years of professional experience in compiler development focused on LLVM or modern compiler backends.
•Strong background in computer architecture and software engineering practices, with experience designing and working with compiler backends.
•Active contribution history to the open-source LLVM project.
•Mastery of LLVM backend components including LLVM IR, Machine IR (MIR), SelectionDAG, GlobalISel, register allocation, TableGen, and instruction scheduling.
•Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
