Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead and inspire an electrical engineering team, role-modelling leadership behaviours and driving engagement, accountability, coaching, and succession planning.
  • •Develop site-wide electrical capability through training programmes and engineer development to meet legal requirements.
  • •Provide technical leadership and mentoring for electrical and control systems engineers, sharing best practice and building long-term talent.
  • •Act as the Site Electrical Duty Holder and ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, including the Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • •Own electrical governance, safety, risk management, and the electrical infrastructure strategy; ensure reliability/availability and support major capital projects, budgets, procurement, and contractor performance.

Key Requirements

  • •Recognised time-served Electrical Apprentice with an HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • •5+ years in industrial/manufacturing electrical engineering, including LV/HV distribution systems, motors/drives/control systems, utilities/energy management, electrical compliance audits, and reliability/asset management.
  • •2+ years acting as the site’s electrical duty holder, including Senior Authorised Person (AP) LV qualification and Senior Authorised Person (SAP) HV qualification (or experience where HV networks exist).
  • •2+ years delivering capital projects and energy reduction programmes.
  • •Health and Safety/compliance credentials including IOSH Managing Safely and/or NEBOSH General Certificate, plus 18th edition wiring regulations (BS7671).
