Key Responsibilities

  • •Undertake overhead line design activities, including PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structural analysis/loading trees, design criteria, sag-tension calculations, and conductor/insulator selection.
  • •Support feasibility studies and conductor thermal ratings to identify technically preferred solution/layout options for clients.
  • •Ensure projects meet safety, health, environmental, sustainability, and quality standards.
  • •Ensure adherence to AECOM and client design management processes.
  • •Support delivery of engineering outputs such as complex designs, reports, proposals, presentations, and drawing packages.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent technical discipline in electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Experience working on electrical design projects for transmission system operators (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) aligned to their standards.
  • •Project experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • •Ability to contribute to technically challenging OHL design and engineering deliverables.
