Job Summary

Lead and collaborate on multidisciplinary R&D projects in biology, biosensing, and materials characterization to develop translational technologies for Dyson’s Personal Care & Beauty platforms. Publish findings, set up validation protocols, and work across teams to translate research into product concepts.

Job Function: Research & Scientific (R&D)

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with scientists and engineers to define requirements for new or existing research projects.
•Provide technical perspective as a subject matter expert to cross-functional teams delivering novel biosensing and materials characterization technologies.
•Critically review literature and patents for recent advances, new materials, calibration methodologies, and application domain standards.
•Develop and validate advanced analytical/testing protocols.
•Interpret results and iteratively improve experimental methods while coordinating small projects or workstreams and owning project deliverables.

Key Requirements

•Advanced degree in Materials Science, Bioengineering, or a closely related discipline with a strong experimental focus (or equivalent industry experience).
•Experience developing technology in an industry or commercial context.
•Familiarity with general materials characterization techniques (elemental/chemical analysis, microstructure, electrical and optical properties, mechanical/thermal properties).
•Knowledge of electrochemistry and biosensing; experience working in a biological wet lab (designing and executing biological assays) is advantageous.
•Experience with experimental instrumentation, custom setups, calibration, validation, and performance benchmarking.
