Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as enterprise-wide technical authority for human performance within the POTFF program at HQ USSOCOM.
  • •Provide strategic guidance, policy development, readiness enhancement initiatives, and enterprise-wide human performance integration across Components and theater commands.
  • •Direct long- and short-range planning, data integration efforts, and the creation and dissemination of training, research, and communications for mission-critical human performance initiatives.
  • •Assist with oversight and compliance documentation for site assist visits and IG inspections, and communicate information across the chain of command.
  • •Mentor a network of embedded operational health and/or performance professionals and provide expert consultation to senior leaders across USSOCOM and the DOW.

Key Requirements

  • •Master’s degree in an accredited exercise science, health science, physical education-related discipline, dietetics, physical therapy, or sports psychology-related area.
  • •Current certification: CSCS, SCCC, Physical Therapist, Certified Consultant (Association for Applied Sport Psychology), Registered Dietitian (RD), or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
  • •10+ years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years embedded in USSOCOM POTFF or equivalent demonstrable experience developing sport- and/or mission-specific performance programs with measurable results.
  • •Creditable specialized experience in long- and short-range planning and coordination of functional programs, including collegiate/professional athletic environments and multidomain training (strength, conditioning, performance nutrition, and team dynamics).
  • •Ability to maintain or obtain required clearance (Secret or Top-Secret).
