Job Summary

Lead engineering and maintenance operations for the Fort Smith site, managing reliability, repairs, capital projects, and technology activities. Own maintenance strategy, plant reliability goals, long- and short-term planning, and KPI-driven improvements using Lean Manufacturing. Oversee maintenance and engineering budgets, supplier/vendor negotiations, and ISO program delivery (18001/9001/2200/14001). Build and coach a high-performing maintenance and engineering team in a unionized environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure compliance with OHSA and drive equipment reliability and service standards through performance monitoring and root-cause fixes.
•Oversee maintenance and engineering, including capital budgets, monitoring cost and effectiveness to optimize resources and prioritize spending.
•Develop long-term strategic plans to drive maintenance performance to world-class standards and deliver continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing tools.
•Manage capital projects and deliver results first-time, on-time, and on-budget; chair subcontracting meetings.
•Build and lead the maintenance and engineering team, coaching and training employees while ensuring ISO programs are delivered on time with timely corrective actions.

Key Requirements

•8 years of professional experience in an engineering leadership role, with a strong track record leading change in a unionized environment.
•Implementing and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
•Experience in project management and delivering transformational change in maintenance techniques and practices.
•Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques.
•Knowledge of OHSA; computer literate with Microsoft Office (including Microsoft Project) and production systems (JD Edwards, Kronos Payroll).
