Job Summary

Develop next-generation photonic integrated circuits for Starlink deployment across space and ground infrastructure. Design, analyze, and simulate optical building blocks (modulators, photodiodes, filters, waveguides, couplers) and derive photonics IC specifications. Model and package optical interfaces, perform IC floor planning and layout, and evaluate high-speed optical link components. Collaborate with system architects, DSP, electro-optics, ASIC, and manufacturing teams; support test lab automation and qualification.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, analyze, and simulate optical building blocks (e.g., modulators, photodiodes, filters, waveguides, couplers) for integrated platforms such as silicon photonics and InGaAs/InP.
•Derive specifications for photonics IC systems and circuits.
•Design and model package optical interfaces, including edge couplers and grating couplers.
•Work with system architects and teams across DSP, electro-optics, and ASIC to partition functions between hardware and software domains.
•Perform IC floor planning and layout, and evaluate/measure electrical and optical building blocks for high-speed optical link solutions.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
•5+ years of photonics or electro-optical integrated circuit design.
•Experience using electrical simulation tools such as Spectre and ADS.
•Design and analysis skills for linear/non-linear circuits including high bandwidth modulator drivers, TIAs, CTLEs, filters, and low noise/power amplifiers.
•Experience with wideband circuit designs for high speed SerDes links (100Gbps+; BW exceeding 10s of GHz).
