Job Summary

Provide technical assistance and guidance on stormwater, surface water, and water resources planning, analysis, and design. Support hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling and stormwater management, including preliminary designs for conveyance, detention/retention, water quality treatment, culverts, and open channels. Prepare calculations, stormwater management plans, drainage studies, reports, and plan production, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams based in Columbus, OH.

Key Responsibilities

•Support stormwater, surface water, and water resources planning, analysis, and design with a focus on H&H modeling and drainage system design.
•Lead and assist in developing engineering calculations for runoff estimation, flow routing, detention/retention sizing, and hydraulic capacity.
•Perform H&H modeling to evaluate drainage systems, watershed response, and flood risks.
•Prepare stormwater management plans, drainage reports, technical memoranda, and supporting documentation with clear methodologies, assumptions, and results.
•Provide preliminary design for stormwater infrastructure (conveyance systems, storm sewer networks, culverts, open channels, and water quality treatment) and generate figures/exhibits for project documentation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a focus in Water Resources or closely related discipline.
•3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in water resources engineering.
•Knowledge of H&H modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM, FlowMaster, or similar tools.
•Familiarity with design and drafting software such as Civil 3D or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
•Understanding of water resources engineering principles, including stormwater management, drainage design, open channel hydraulics, and floodplain analysis.
