Job Summary

Provide quantity surveying and commercial management leadership across complex rail and metro projects. Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, tender documentation, and procurement reports, and manage cost planning/control across the full lifecycle. Administer contracts, evaluate tenders/variations/claims, monitor cash flow and forecasts, and support value engineering. Ensure governance and contractual compliance while mentoring junior quantity surveyors and partnering with clients, contractors, designers, and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver quantity surveying and cost management services across major rail and metro infrastructure projects.
•Prepare cost estimates, cost plans, budgets, tender documentation, and procurement reports.
•Lead cost planning and cost control throughout the full project lifecycle, monitoring costs, cash flow, forecasts, and performance against approved budgets.
•Administer contracts and evaluate tenders, variations, compensation events, claims, and final accounts.
•Support value engineering initiatives, identify commercial risks/opportunities, ensure compliance, and mentor junior quantity surveyors.

Key Requirements

•A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related discipline.
•Chartered status, or working towards chartership, with SCSI, RICS, or an equivalent professional body.
•Proven experience delivering quantity surveying and cost management on rail, metro, or major transportation infrastructure projects.
•Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, including NEC and Public Works Contracts, with experience administering contracts on complex infrastructure schemes.
•Experience in cost estimating, cost planning, procurement, contract administration, change control, claims management, and commercial reporting.
