Job Summary

Senior Flood Modeller responsible for delivering high-quality flood modelling and hydrology projects for UK and international clients. You will lead hydraulic and water quality modelling using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike 11/21, HEC-RAS and ICM, mentor junior staff, develop proposals, and collaborate with clients and cross-disciplinary teams to support flood alleviation schemes and multi-million pound framework contracts.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop and check hydraulic models to assist the design of Flood Alleviation Schemes, deliver Flood Risk Assessments and conduct reservoir flood studies.
•Develop water quality models using industry standard software such as MIKE, Delft3D, SIMCAT and/or ICM.
•Conceptualise and scope modelling approaches with consideration of risks and opportunities in each project.
•Undertake and check hydrological assessments including Flood Estimation Handbook, ReFH2 and WINFAP.
•Lead and input into tenders ranging from innovative one-off projects to multimillion-pound framework contracts.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
•Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (such as Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller and/ or TUFLOW)
•Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for flood risk assessments
•Basic understanding of physico-chemical water quality and the associated regulatory standards for fresh waters
•Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
