Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure effective planning and implementation of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) programs for project execution and incorporate OH&S “in Design” and “in Construction” practices across project scopes.
  • •Maintain quality and completeness of the project’s OH&S Management Systems and Management Plan, ensuring access to tools for effective risk identification and control.
  • •Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to OH&S staff, including recommendations on resource allocation and monitoring non-project OH&S budgets.
  • •Develop and deliver OH&S (and applicable risk management) training programs for project personnel, and establish compliant processes to record and communicate OH&S performance.
  • •Respond to critical workplace incidents, personally lead investigations into significant events, and ensure learnings are shared while driving continuous improvement.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with typically 10+ years in site safety, supervision, auditing, and risk management within construction or mining.
  • •Professional OHS certification is considered an asset.
  • •Strong ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve HSEC programs, systems, and training across all levels.
  • •Proven capacity to identify hazards, assess risks, and apply effective mitigation strategies across diverse environments and project stages.
  • •Ability to lead audits/reviews and translate incident investigation findings into practical improvements, including using leading and lagging safety indicators.
