Job Summary

Lead the planning and implementation of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) programs for the RD MLE project, ensuring “in Design” and “in Construction” practices are embedded across project scopes. Partner with project and contractor leadership to identify and control major and severe risks throughout the project lifecycle and future operations. Oversee, coach, and support OH&S professionals, drive incident investigations, audits, reporting, and continuous improvement of OH&S processes across Projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Ensure effective planning and implementation of Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) programs for project execution and incorporate OH&S “in Design” and “in Construction” practices across project scopes.
•Maintain quality and completeness of the project’s OH&S Management Systems and Management Plan, ensuring access to tools for effective risk identification and control.
•Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to OH&S staff, including recommendations on resource allocation and monitoring non-project OH&S budgets.
•Develop and deliver OH&S (and applicable risk management) training programs for project personnel, and establish compliant processes to record and communicate OH&S performance.
•Respond to critical workplace incidents, personally lead investigations into significant events, and ensure learnings are shared while driving continuous improvement.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 101,000 - 125,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience, with typically 10+ years in site safety, supervision, auditing, and risk management within construction or mining.
•Professional OHS certification is considered an asset.
•Strong ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve HSEC programs, systems, and training across all levels.
•Proven capacity to identify hazards, assess risks, and apply effective mitigation strategies across diverse environments and project stages.
•Ability to lead audits/reviews and translate incident investigation findings into practical improvements, including using leading and lagging safety indicators.
