Key Responsibilities

  • •Inspect jobs and determine the nature and extent of repairs in line with accepted safety standards.
  • •Troubleshoot, plan, and perform work using knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronics, low voltage DC, and pneumatic principles.
  • •Interpret prints or sketches and make installation or repairs as specified, including following complex equipment diagrams and parts documentation.
  • •Install, repair, and rebuild equipment including engines, hydraulic and electric systems, transmissions, traction motors, and differentials.
  • •Direct apprentices, recommend system/parts modifications, and follow applicable quality, environmental, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Key Requirements

  • •Must be a Red Seal Journeyperson.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, low voltage direct current, electronics, and pneumatic systems.
  • •Interpret prints or sketches and follow specifications on complex equipment diagrams, parts drawings, and catalogs.
  • •Install and repair mechanical equipment such as compressors, pumps, generators, fans, and drilling/loading/haulage equipment.
  • •Experience in mining is preferred (not necessary).
