Key Responsibilities

  • •Prepare and maintain astronomy equipment, observatories, and facilities to ensure they are fully operational and guest-ready before each experience.
  • •Operate manual and computerized telescopes, binoculars, and optical equipment; configure lenses, filters, and accessories to optimize observations.
  • •Conduct guest safety briefings and guide guests through astronomy activities while educating them on astronomy and dark-sky conservation.
  • •Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including deep maintenance and telescope software updates; maintain maintenance documentation and inventory records.
  • •Support event and programme delivery by assisting with logistics, planning, equipment requirements, coordination with guides/operations, and communicating updates and guest feedback.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy, Physics, Tourism, Hospitality, Business Management, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline.
  • •Minimum 2 years of experience in tourism, hospitality, adventure tourism, or guest experience operations.
  • •Minimum 2 years of practical experience operating astronomy and optical equipment, including large-aperture systems.
  • •Experience performing routine and advanced maintenance, including telescope alignment, mirror collimation, and calibration.
  • •Wilderness First Aid certification or an internationally recognized First Aid certification.
